Strasburg Hits The 15 Day DL

AUTHOR: Jeremy Stewart | IN: Nationals | COMMENTS: None Yet

Stephen Strasburg has been put on the 15 day disabled list with what the team is calling ”Shoulder Inflammation”.  The team said he will not throw for 3 or 4 days and be re-evaluated then. Strasburg was scheduled to start Tuesday but was pulled about 20mins before game time. His slot in the rotation on Sunday against the Phillies has yet to be filled but will probably go to AAA lefty Matt Chico.

So there was no pop in his elbow, no pain, and right now Strasburg is day-to-day and will get an X-ray and MRI. Breath out.

Big Bag O’ Suck- The 25 Man Rundown

AUTHOR: Jeremy Stewart | IN: Nationals, Popular | COMMENTS: None Yet

Every week, in an attempt to figure whose headed up and who could be headed down, I’ll give my ranking of the Nationals major league roster.
The Reasons to Keep Watching
1. Stephen Strasburg- Big test for him this week vs Atlanta and Philly.
2. Ryan Zimmerman- The race to .300 begins.
3. Adam Dunn- Big week for him.
4. Josh Willingham- Screw Dunn, sign this guy long-term.
5. Matt Capps- If the Nats don’t want to give him 6-7mil in arbitration he’s gone by Saturday.
6. Mike Morse- After everyone of his hits he should yell ”Suck It!” at Rigglemen.
7. Drew Storen- He has to be [...]

BREAKING NEWS- Nationals to Use Pitcher With Actual Talent

AUTHOR: Jeremy Stewart | IN: Nationals | COMMENTS: None Yet

The long Nationals nightmare that was Luis Atilano is over.  He has been put on the DL and hopefully he will not resurface until we see him running the ”Guess Your Pitch Speed” Game at Single-A Hagerstown. In his place will be former 1st-round pick Ross Detwiler who, by virtue of being able to top 90mph, will be an automatic upgrade over Atilano. Detwiler will be making his comeback Sunday against the Brewers, while Atilano would like to sell your overweight child some Dip N’ Dots.

Anybody Wanna Pitch Sunday?

AUTHOR: Jeremy Stewart | IN: Nationals | COMMENTS: None Yet

Righty Luis Atilano will miss his start Sunday with ”Arm Discomfort”, which is ironic since Atilano’s pitching arm has given Nationals fans discomfort all season. Noone seems to be real sure who will make the start Sunday in Milwaukee, but the best guesses seem to be former 1st rounder Ross Detwiler, whose been dominate at AA, or lefty Matt Chico, who pitched last night at AAA Syracuse and is lined up perfectly to pitch Sunday. Either way, I hope the result is Atilano no longer in uniform.
